Call for patent disclosure: - No one declared a patent. AR Review: - Anders create example IBIS file with golden waveforms - TBD, long term - Mike add explanation of OPTIONAL and make 5.2.9 OPTIONAL - Done, discussed today New items: Continued review of the IBIS Quality Specification: Discussion of "OPTIONAL": - David sent an email proposing that OPTIONAL checks are for IBIS data items that relax constraints on other IBIS data - Mike added a definition of OPTIONAL as 1.3 - Currently the only remaining OPTIONAL check is 5.2.9 - Mike: 5.2.9 is optional in the same way that [Diff Pin] is: - The data is not required - The check is required only if the data is present. - We added a sentence to 1.3 to explain the conditions under which a check might be OPTIONAL - There may be a mismatch between IBIS format and available data. - Moshiul: For example, some [Model Spec] data is hard to obtain. 5.2.15. {LEVEL 2} [Model Spec] S_Overshoot subparameters track typ/min/max - Bob: Does this mean typ/min/max voltage? - BIRD 109.1 was passed recently, clarifying these terms. - Moshiul: What if there is one number for max voltage, no typ? - Bob: typ is always required - Would put same number three times - Mike: Doesn't this track forward bias of power clamp? - Mike: The title does not say typ/min/max "what" - Mike: Do some devices clamp to ground? - Some power supplies are unable to sink current to reduce voltage. - Bob: Yes, ECL for example. - Bob: IBIS is not for checking simple problems like excessive power supply - This implies that min and max can not be NA - Bob: NA usually means "use typical" - Bob: This originated with Quad - What does ibischk do? AR: Mike determine IBISCHK4 checks for [Model Spec] S_overshoot parameters Mike will be unavailable for a 1 Jun 2008 meeting - We decided not to meet that day Next meeting: 08 Jul 2008 11-12 AM EST (8-9 AM PST) Meeting ended at 12:06 PM Eastern Time.
